Naan Mahan Alla

Peaceful Dragon

You can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one. Each day is a different one, each day brings a miracle of its own. It's just a matter of paying attention to this miracle

Why do people prefer to believe in something far away and forget what is there before their eyes, a true manifestation of the miracle?

...in all the woods and forests, God did not create a single leaf the same as any other… People go against nature because they lack the courage to be different

No one can lie, no one can hide anything, when he looks directly into someone's eyes

We buy books, we go to gyms, we expend a lot of brain power on trying to hold back time, when we should be celebrating the miracle of being here in this world

The danger of an adventure is worth a thousand days of ease and comfort

You have to take risks. We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen

When you hit the ground and become little weak, all you need is to have a little faith

Paiyaa

Recent Visitors

If you only see problems fluttering over your head,
If you cant sing sweet notes of freedom,
If responsibilities and tensions chirp your mind,
There are people with friendliness of a sparrow to help you with :)

PS: These are common house sparrows. They used to be. Now, they are rare to see. Not because these species are in environmental danger. But, our day-to-day world has become so busy, blind and fast moving. Thanks to Sundays!!

A thing of beauty is joy forever. Life is beautiful

Haikko

Take Me Down - Negative Space

What is negative space?
When composing a piece of artwork, we generally work with three elements: the frame, the positive space, and the negative space (also called white space). The frame is the bounding size of the artwork, the positive space is the subject, and the negative space is the empty space around the subject.

The river is deep,
it touches my life ....
like the waves on the sand

Time stands still as I gaze In her waters
She eases me down, touching me gently

Take me back to my boat on the river
And.. I will never come back again

Lyrics: STYX - Boat On the River

Damned With Love

Life was glorified by love
When we were one for all.
Self was damned by love
When you left once for all.

Tears accommpanied the love
Your eyes had shown.
Silence accompanied the words
You last wrote down.

Pain enslaved the moments
Your presence had given.
Memories mended the heart
Your absence had broken.

Flooded with your thoughts,
Future is no bright.
Being addicted to your love
I will be alright.

A Soul losing love feels more pain than a body losing blood

Eternal Sunshine - First Love

June 15, 1994. It was the day when I joined this new school, ERHSS, Trichy. I was standing in the bus stop around 7:30AM, without being aware that the moment of eternity is about to come in my life. The morning was brighter and everything looked charmingly active. One can die a thousand times and be born again, for, that moment is the most precious and pleasantly memorable one - The moment you feel you are really alive, your heart beats music, your body gets lighter and takes off slowly from the ground and suddenly you feel your senses are crushed. First Crush, First Love - It is a mixed feeling of pain and joy. It is more than a memory - a Souvenir. It is only that feeling, makes life worth the living.

Everything around me was freezed by her presence and the silence in the bus stop. Her name is .... Let this remain a sweet secret till the end. It starts with the letter 'S' and ends with 'T'. There were no Monday blues even when my socks were lost and homework not completed, because, i would be seeing her. She has got big, round, powerful eyes and the sweetest voice in the city. Sometimes, if I come late and miss her, the same place would look completely dry, like an ocean becoming an Island. The charmness of the present would lose its dimension and with time passing by, everything in me would fade into memories. She became my comfort zone during the long journies to School.

Why did I like her? She was authentic and never changed her identity. She operates on one key - Service to others. More importantly, she never crashed with anyone ;). She was more disciplined, regular and religious. Every day she goes to Srirangam Temple in the morning at 5.30AM and you can bet she will come to the bus stop between 7:30AM and 7:40AM. She listens to music a lot, mostly the local FM Channels. I liked her very much from the very beginning. My day would not be complete without seeing her in the evening. She leaves between 4:30 PM and 4:35PM. I would run out of the school and walk slowly towards bus stop, so that I would not miss my chance for the day.

I admit, I had literally run after her and fallen for her during school days. She never knew, I loved her madly and deeply. May be, she will not . 'I Love you' - I believed can be said a billion times but to the same person. I kept quiet and my emotions suppressed. Just like that, six years passed in a God damn hurry. After joining college, it was hard to see her. I would her once in a while, only that, I would not have much to talk. I would just smile and walk away. By then, she had changed a lot too. When she hums, it drives everyone on the road to the height of craziness. Even now, when she comes, I will stop for a while and see her like a temple cart decorated with colorful lights and fresh evening flowers. From children to grannies, everybody like her. I should say, she remains yet another crown to our place.

After college, I moved to Chennai where I fell in love with every attractive women I saw. And, everytime I suffocated in love, the pain was more than agony. As rightly said by Paulo 'Beyond suffering, Pain is pleasure'. I only can say, my first love is different from its successors. It is pure and innocent. It still shines bright before my eyes, comes to my heart like a gentle breeze and fills my soul like a wishful dream. Though my wife is envious about her, she likes her too for two reasons. May be because she is still in Trichy... may be because she is just a city bus - SAT - Route 9 :)

Hues Of Horizon

Summer nights are wonderful. When there is no electricity, we get another chance to see more stars and the enduring constellations, one more time.

The mind is the horizon for our thoughts. If you see the horizon as the end of the ocean, expand it.

The Sun and the Moon, they are always together in the horizons. Yet far away and forever apart.

Down the horizon, when the sky changes its colour, you dont need to expose your camera film, but your eyes and heart.

When you feel the pain of nothingness inside, just keep your eyes fixed on the far Horizon and keep moving.

There is no magical place or better world beyond the horizon, when you are before my eyes.

After every setback, when you fail to cheer up yourself, the last chance of setting it right quits the horizon.

Forgetting Sarah

Where is she? It is 6:30am, May 26, 2008. Andy woke up, got out of his bed and looked through the window and thought: She might be in the kitchen, or in the upstairs, or might have gone to the nearby shop. But, the chances are less. She never left him without informing. He suddenly realized he is in a different place, different time far from his home and far from the past. The question remained unanswered. Where is she?

Andy started to feel the fear of having lost his lovely wife slowly. This is Andy. He wakes up every day with a million questions about her and for her. All these questions will chain up and logically come to an end with only one question open in his mind. "Where is she?" His unanswered questions and unanswered prayers left him with painful moments when he felt almost suicidal with despair. But, she had told, so he knows, pain and pleasure are part of life.

Andy felt her presence in the warm air that fanned his face. It was her voice, Sarah's sweetest voice, that gave some peace and a little sleep, during the long and lonely nights of Andy. He goes to bed with tears of love brimming in the eyes and his future immersed in this miserable little life. Sometimes at night in the starry sky, he would keep looking tirelessly at the stars that twinkle at him and ask himself, 'Where is she?'

It was on March 3rd 2003, Andy first met her. His first instinct when he saw her was to take her to his mother and introduce her as his soul mate. Andy was sure about two things: His mother would proudly accept her as daughter-in-law and secondly, no matter what happens in his life, it wouldn't be that bad than losing her. Andy was happily married to her for three years.

Sarah was Andy's number one fan. She always made him feel special. She cared more than she showed and her eyes would speak more than any words. Her admiration and giving made Andy go an extra mile at work and successful in life too. Days and months rolled on with more and more happiness around and absolutely no timetable. He rarely called her by the name Sarah. He used to call her, whatever beautiful or interesting thing he see or think in his mind and often with crazy names. At times, she would even call him MAD. But to Andy, it was the only sensible way to love - loving to the point of madness. Her love for him was greater even than her love for herself.

Life that was more livelier and exiting succumbed to sadness and boredom. Sarah found her way to heaven on April 5th 2007. 'Where is she?' Andy did not believe in whatever his friends or family had to say. He laughed and laughed and finally cried and learnt that she is truly gone. The emptiness in his soul and in his heart, reminded him each moment, that Sarah is no more. He believed out of some unknown place, she would show up, atleast, atleast once and say 'HI'. But she never did.

Time has healed the worst of the wounds this world had ever seen. So it did for Andy, after two hard years. Sarah had shown him how to conceal his joys. He can now hide his griefs. She had shown him how to control his mind. He can now control himself to live this world without her. Andy has to go through one thing that was never shared by his wife - His Loneliness. Before two years, she was everything. Now, everything is her. Whenever Andy see something interesting or beautiful, on his way, he would smile and say to himself 'Hey Sarah, how you doing?'.

Memories and longings are innocent and eternal, when they are about the one you love
